It's been this price for months. They just keep changing the expiration date for the instant savings. I want another fridge but don't need one so I've been watching this since about September hoping it would go down more.

I bought this fridge last year. Kenmore just slaps their name on the fridge and whomever manufactures it can change at any time. Ours is manufactured by Daewoo. I learned from speaking with various techs that this is the nightmare manufacturer you don't want to get.

I use this in my garage. Compressor and evaporator went out in under 9 months. It took 6 service calls, 3 months and a lot of wasted hours on the phone to get the fridge repaired. Not to mention a couple hundred bucks in freezer spoilage.

I would stay away from anything Kenmore/Sears related. They are in a very bad state at the moment.

My advice is to do the research on who will be repairing the appliance should you have issues. Avoid anything Sears. That is all I have to contribute. Good luck to those who make the plunge.

Edit: Oh forgot to mention this tidbit. When the tech popped off the back cover in the freezer to inspect the evaporator coil, there were burn marks that he was surprised to see in various places. He said he's never seen that type of low quality work from the factory. The QC is bad.

Still seems a bit pricey for a garage fridge.

Same problem. And the only reason I didn't pull the trigger on this one months ago.

For a family of 5 including 3 under 5y, we sure go thru lots of dairy, produce, etc. We don't eat meat so that is not a storage concern. My counter depth fridge in the kitchen is always full and it is a challenge to fit everything in the 1 day of the week we can do groceries. I'm convinced I need a smaller fridge in the garage. But I'm worried about the ongoing electricity charges as well as if there would be any difficulty setting the temperature as many of reviews of smaller fridges mention. Would the basement (unfinished in our case) be a better place to have the second fridge? Anyone got any helpful tips for my situation please and thanks and reps.

Likely won't make much difference where you put fridge as youll be opening less than your primaey one. My theory is you'll save the electric cost by getting more items when they are on sale and less store trips. Plus, if adverse weather comes(I'm in Ohio) I know we dont have to get out.

Garage Ready means it works better in lower temperatures. This one, however, says "as low as 39."

I have had fridges in unheated garages go down to single digits and they weren't even "garage ready" I'd hope this can handle worse than 39 degrees.

Even if you could it would be hard to know if it gives you enough clearance without buying it first and finding out the hard way it doesn't. I would need to get it to 29 inches for a 30 inch doorway. I would be very surprised if taking off the door would give me the 4 inches I need. They don't carry this one at my local warehouse either.
