Awesome. Bought (2) 40lb bags of the cherry for $28.99. That brings the cost to $14.50 each. That's the lowest on the 40lb bag in a while.

FYI, the bourbon is sold out.

I go for Lumber Jack now instead of Bear Mountain. Our local farm store has them for $9 for 20lbs. Plus I like the fact they actually have 100% hickory pellets and not just a blend of hickory and some other woods like most brands. They also have 100% Cherry and Apple available. Sure wish they still did 100% pecan but they dropped that about a year and a half ago. That said, Bear Mountain is my second choice if I can't get Lumber Jack.

It all depends on how much smoke flavor you want. I personally go with mesquite for more smoke flavor and if I really want true smoked meat I will thrown it on my stick burner first for 5 or 6 hours and then move it to the pellet smoker. I personally have tried cherry and apple for pork and there was no smoke flavor so I stick with mesquite and sometimes mix in some pecan.

I want all the smoke flavor I can get with a pellet smoker. I do everything at 225 and high smoke setting with my camp chef. Mesquite sounds like the way to go here.

pecan, oak, and then mesquite would be my recommendation. Mesquite is a lot of intense smoke for such a long cook.

If you REALLY want it smoky, then go with mesquite, but I'm more of a beef flavor first with smoke, rather than smoky beef.

Yes but this post is for Bear Mountain BBQ pellets. Not a random pellet at a membership warehouse. I can also find Pit Boss pellets for cheap every day of the week, that doesn't necessarily make it a deal. Bear Mountain is known for their quality pellets and these are shipped free right to your door with no membership requirement.

I do like Lumberjack as well but they always have more ash output. Bear Mountain and CookinPellets seem to have a cleaner burn IMO.

How is that a better deal? I just got 2 40 lb bags for $28.99 total with free shipping. Getting the same amount at Lowe's would be $40 plus tax and have to buy another bag to get free shipping. Also, if I would have bought the 20 lb bags, it would have been $17.99 for two bags with free shipping ($17.99<$20 plus tax). Might want to rethink your math.
