The primary reason people should pick this is you have a space with only 24" to 26" wide. If not, pick other models with higher cu. ft. with cheaper prices

As a freezer how does it compare to the Frigidaire 13 cu ft garage ready from HD? It's on sale too for $698 (not convertible though)

For those who would like to know whether this is garage ready or not:

This unit's working temperature range: between 50°F (10°C ) and 110°F (43°C)

Samsung = worst appliances.

Worst brands: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRgbfxJ8MTQ

Best fridges (most suck, especially those with lots of bells and whistles and/or not made in the US): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKJgYVhZ6-w

This looks exactly like the 11.4 bespoke column fridge except for the stainless steel door panels.

This was a FP deal last year using stacking codes $360 and all purchases got a $125 refund making it a net $235.

Some were lucky in also stacking the $125 coupon before Samsung voided all bespoke referral codes making it a super slick $110.

Bought 2 units for $220 before sales tax for both to combine one as a fridge and one as a freezer.

However- had a problem with 1 unit where the unit I choose to be a 100% freezer which stopped completely within 2 months of purchase. The issue recurred after an official repair replacing the computer board a month later. Oddly after rebooting the fridge, the issue never recurred and it has been working fine the past 5 months.

Despite the insanely low $110 per unit paid, the stress and monetary value lost on sudden loss of use of a brand new $1000 MSRP appliance should be a warning to potential Samsung home appliance customers- even if you purchase one that doesn't have the oft-quoted problematic ice makers

Could be, but you don't want to find out.

One is vertical, the other horizontal.

Other than that smart ass answer... it allows for easier food storage. No need to be searching for food because organization is simply easier with an upright. Uprights also usually(don't quote me) self defrost.

This refrigerator is NOT garage ready. "Garage Ready" must withstand very low / very hight temperatures (garages are normally not air conditioned).
This one will only work "between 50 °F (10 °C ) and 110 °F (43 °C)" (attached from manual).

By the way, Costco has this for 650 right now (valid through 9/10/23): https://www.costco.com/.product.1474064.html
