Nice, I bought 2 used/acceptable. Hopefully someones netflix is already on them.

I wonder when Amazon is going to have a warehouse sale again.
Get the max, the CPU on these came out in 2018. I have both and can no longer recommend this.

How much better is the Max? Mine is from 2017 and it's pretty laggy at this point.

Personally, im waiting for a deal on the max, I have two fire cubes with no lag at all, and one of these firesticks 4k, I think I'll try the max next, as I don't like any lag. With 2gb of ram and a better processor it shouldn't lag.

Thanks yeah I'll probably hold out for the same. I have Roku devices in other rooms but I need the Atmos support.

i only use these for Kodi set to autolaunch and it is a little beast of a device that plays everything thrown at it. Has HDR and DV to boot.

i've bought 3 of them, 2 of them on woot via these deals. the last one was when they had the $4 code as well so it was like $13 shipped. all of them have been running flawlessly and looked brand new

These are probably already upgraded, eg can't root them, if they are rootable / lineageOS AndroidTV with Kernel Auditor makes these decent devices, the 1.5 GB of ram can be overcome with z ram of like 600 MB

I've been using "OnBootappStarter" on all of them and it works. My 3 sticks are on 6.2.9.4, 6.2.9.2, and 6.2.8.9 and it works on all of them to go into Kodi immediately after the OS boot boots to the Amazon launcher.

I blocked some stuff in OpenDNS/DNSOmatic for them so they're not updating automatically. so far so good.

4k max fire os will be 7 but the 4k will not get fire os 7. Not that it matters for kodi but just a FYI. Fire os 7 easily shows the USB drive added if you add one but fire os 6 needs some extra work.

What generation are your cubes? I have a first gen and it is so incredibly slow. So much worse than my fire sticks that are just as old.
