as to the other comments, 2,000mah is at 18 volts - at 5 volts (ie your power bank) - thats more like 8,000mah

This is 2ah at 18v = (18*2)wh. You phone battery is not 18v, it is around 3v. So it is about (3*5)wh.

People still have stuff that needs a receptacle to power. That includes, but is not limited to; Fans, Lamps, low power tools, TV's/Monitors, Laptops, Network equipment, electric kitchen appliances (ex can opener). These are good for camping. I personally leave one next to my Modem and Router to replace a UPS and save some $ avoiding the constant power draw a UPS needs. I don't need the internet up 100% of the time, but I do want everyone to continue using it during a power outage to avoid using my phone's hotspot and battery. Doing that alone saves me enough $ in electricity a year to cover the cost of an inverter with battery bundle.

Every tool line makes an inverter, so most people just buy the brand they are in and use existing batteries. You most likely are not starting out buying this unless you have a specific use case you need an inverter for. Slick Deals loves Ryobi because every tool uses the same battery style, so there is no concern you have to buy an old 'new' battery years from now to use your tools, or throw them away and buy a new system.

If you can't find a use for it, then pass. Thinking of this as a power bank is missing the point of the tool. These used to only have receptacles on them, no USB. They added it because they all received feedback from owners it would make it more versatile. You can buy a stand alone Ryobi battery to USB adapter for $15. If you are complaining about the batteries, you can do a hack deal and get two 4ah (@18v) batteries for about $50. So for $65 you will have a much bigger power bank for cheaper. If you really want the inverter for some reason, it's been $100 with the two 4ah batteries during Ryobi days, and probably will be again. That's not mentioning those batteries will power every Ryobi tool from a fan and light to an auger and lawn mower.

Yeah I actually had one in my hand at home depot and put it back on the shelf when I saw that. But that was at $129. For $66+tax I can live with it.

I have this item and it's a life saver in power outage conditions, as most of new gas stoves now shut off gas when power is off (supposedly for safety), with this little device you can use your gas stove during power outages, one advice you need to turn this device off when not using the stove to avoid battery drainage.

The whole point of this thing is that you can plug in your laptop adaptor and get full 150w output, right? I meant you will need a high capacity battery like 4ah, 6ah, or even 9ah for it to provide a more meaningful charge but for folks like me already have many Ryobi batteries lying around, the small battery coming with the tool is not a problem, right?

Since I don't need another 2ah battery and another usb-c adapter/cable, decided to get the 40v inverter with 300w capacity instead since I also have a bunch of big 40v batteries.

This Ryobi will power items up to 150 watts max at 110 AC volts. So a 4 ah 18 volt Ryobi battery should easily power your modem and router for 1.5 hours. However, it will not power them through the USB-C port, since it is limited to 30 watts.

I used similar item(older 150w one) during power outage to power cable modem, router and Wi-Fi AP, 4ah battery I think can last 2-3 hours.

I have this. The 30w USB-C is enough juice to keep my 16" MacBook Pro at its current battery level and offers a slight charge. Primary use for me is travel battery/charger. I often bring Ryobi clip fans on vacation and this charging batteries means I don't also need a stand alone charger. This is convenient because i have a ton of Ryobi batteries so I'm never in a position where I forgot to charge a dedicated battery device.

Review on HD said that inverter doesn't have True sign wave output. So it's best not to use it with high end electronic devices.
