This has been the normal price at our Sam's for a couple of years now.

I've been using these for maybe 10 years with no issues with my AR coating Perhaps the quality of the coating makes a difference though.

I was just at walmart picking up some alcohol prep pads and they have these for around this price, if not cheaper.

Can these be used to clean monitors or phone screens?
Yes, but for monitors I recommend getting a spray+ cloth kit.

Ordered a pack today and received it today. Looks like it was picked up at a local WM.

I prefer the Zeiss spray and cloth kit better but to each his own.

Used to be 5 a box iirc in years past, might have been a smaller size

is it sold in costco stores as well?
I've never seen Zeiss lens wipes in store at Costcos - just some green one that's absolutely awful and leaves lent on the lenses.

I like the Bausch and Lomb Sight Savers myself. I have both and the B&L always have a lot more moisture per pack.

Cold water and dish soap is the best. Never use warm water
Dawn, rinse, wipe with my cotton t-shirt. Because there's facial oil on the lenses and frame.

Great wipes — wet enough to clean thoroughly without leaving a mess behind. Haven't noticed an issue over years of use on AR coating.

Not a deal at Sam's. This is the normal price and they're normally carried there.

New at Costco, but like most things, the unit price is a little more expensive than Sam's.

In this case, very little. $0.04/ea at Sam's vs $0.043/ea at Costco.
Percentage wise that's a decent chunk.

I bought these on July 29, 2022 at 8.88$ when they had 1$ instant savings. They were stored in a cool dry closet in the house. I opened them last week finally. They're somewhat dry and I have to apply lot of force for it remove smudges. I'm not impressed at all. Maybe it is not the quality of the product but that I didn't use it for 5.5 months after buying. But if each wipe is sealed in a plastic lined packaging, where does the moisture go?

Bottomline: If you're sure you're going to use them right away, or truly have a use for so many of them, buy them. Else get smaller packs from Walmart / Amazon.

Hope it helps.

I used to use a lens cloth and spray cleaner. Now I rinse my glasses under the sink and use these wipes. It's great!

Yep I agree. The savings on buying a bunch just aren't enough. Better to buy packs you'll actually use before they dry out.

I'm not sure what is wrong with your experience, but I have had boxes sit around for years without issue. There was a period of time when my Sam's stopped carrying these and instead had a brand called OptiPlus and those were like what you are describing.

These wipes used to be good back in the day. It seems like they're skimping on the product. The wipes are almost dry. Other wipes are better now.
