Traska Venturer True GMT Watch - $695

One of the best microbrand watches out there. These watches sell very quickly due to their popularity in the affordable watch community. They just restocked their updated Venturer (now with GMT) watch.

- 38.5mm (wears more like a 40mm)
- excellent finishing for the price on the case, bracelet, and dial
- a "true" automatic Miyota GMT with quick adjust on the hour hand
- a fully articulating bracelet with a milled clasp and 5 positions of micro adjust
- an inner rotating 24-hour bezel with sapphire crystal and anti-reflective undercoating
- a case and bracelet with a hardness/anti-scratch level that puts Rolex to shame (~500HV on Oystersteel vs 1200HV from Traska)

This is one of the best everyday watches out there for the price that will look the same a year from now with daily wear than it did right out of the box.

Got it. Makes sense. I haven't really followed any microbrands closely, but I have read that these things sell out right away. The Venturers do look great - especially for $695.

I have their Freediver V3 and it's a very nice watch. Wore it 24/7 for over a year and its basically scratch free. Whatever they coat/condition their material with is really amazing.

What makes Traska so desirable? Feels like just another watch made in China i.e. Spinnaker?

Bought one yesterday when it came out. 700$ for a true GMT watch is an insane deal. Has great specs and comes in a great 38.5mm size.

Although it puts Rolex to shame, unfortunately, the design is not attractive to me. I will keep wearing my shamed 116234, 116610.

it's a watch that tries to compete on specs. people on the internet - usually novices - like to compare specs and show that their thing has better specs so it's better than the thing that doesn't have numbers that go as high - especially at a per dollar unit cost. it's an ok dial, ok design, and decent bracelet. decent value, i guess. if i wanted pure value, i'd just get a timex, though.

The design is nice but I would still get something like a Steinhart Ocean one GMT for cheaper. Although they are obviously influenced HEAVILY by Rolex models, they are swiss made, 300m water resistant & has good (not great) resale value. These Japanese GMT's are great but the prices will continue to decrease as they get more & more common
