Sounds like a defect or something . Me and many others don't have these problems.

But feel free to continue just buying Dewalt.

if you need the battery only, can use https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18V-Brushless-Cordless-1-2-in-Impact-Wrench-Kit-with-4-0-Ah-Batte... [homedepot.com] to hack but keep the 2x6.0 Max Output for $93.22

I also think it sounds like a defective item. I've been using rigid for 6 years now and it's all I buy if it's reasonable in price. My three interactions with support were great, but if you read threads and internet sounds like they may not be so great support wise.

Back to the point, that new charger is garbage compared to the old ones and I agree it's worth 10 at most

These were $50 over the weekend delivered, minus the charger. I don't think the charger is worth the $30 delta. If these were the newer style battery then maybe some interest, but they look like the older style.

Those new style chargers are junk. Probably worth $10 at the most.

The little experience I have with Ridgid lasted 2 months. The batteries are no match for my DeWalt batteries with same specs.
What makes the DeWalt superior?

Batteries last longer at the same volts and ah. Significantly longer in my experience. DeWalt tool quality is far superb. Ridgid multi tool is very loud. Louder than my DeWalt and Ryobi. Not to mention the speed selector wheel fell off 2 weeks in. The on and off switch is stiff and hard to engage. A trigger would have been better. All the other tools in the kit weren't that bad but build quality on the DeWalt is a step up.

Is there a difference between these smaller ones and the older, larger ones? I have both but couldn't tell any differences.

The voltage regulator is on the charging unit in the old style. That's why the newer chargers are smaller but you have a giant wall wort instead of just a plug.

After some research, I found maxout 4ah and 6ah are using 18650 cells, but 8ah is using 21700 cells. Because of this, I bought two 8ah yesterday, $109 each before tax with free shipping. With LSA, I think they are worth it.

However, some claim in reality, 18650 cells and 21700 cells don't have that much difference, so I am hesitated to purchase this listed two 6ah batteries.

Just fyi for anyone who is in my similar situation.

Where were these $50 delivered? Best I see is the DTO deal for $50 + $15 s/h.

There was free shipping with the discount a few days ago, that's over now.

Doesn't make any sense on the batteries - they all use the same cells and RIDGID will replace theirs for free, so hard to see how DeWalt could be better. On other tools agree that DeWalt has a (slightly) higher build quality. But Milwaukee is better yet. You pay more for more quality though, of course.
