People that say just buy a Tesla might not be aware that there are not very many Tesla dealerships within a reasonable distance, but there are Ford dealerships everywhere. Good luck getting your car serviced if you live in a smaller town you could be a several hour drive away from a dealer or more.

I think the Bolt EUV is the best bang for your buck if you can live with its limitations. That's why I still have my pickup truck for all the other times. An EV purchase only makes sense if you have a place to charge it and not have to fast charge all the time. I'm not sure if GM is still offering it but I was able to have level 2 outlet installed for free with my purchase. I bought mine last July so I didn't qualify of the federal tax credit, but I'm still happy with my purchase. I paid $36 k out the door, and only pay $4-5 a week to charge at home on off peak times of the day. The only option I wanted was Super Cruise, which has been amazing.

Last year when I went to the dealership they were like yea of course we have mark ups everyone wants it. Now I'm pretty happy with my new model y.

Just buy Tesla. Software alone is more advanced than other automakers apart from other startups like Rivian/Lucid.

20k cars sold at 60k bs MSRP tags, including Tesla. When did a 30k model 3 became a 60-70k car, and yes I am including absurd and utterly wrongly identified as fsd for 15k. EVs should mature in 5-7 years at least, and hope people don't pay premium for these to get a healthy competitive market.

have the car, like the exterior look...inside feels like a ford, the performance is meh for the base model; there's been lots of quality issues. the software is meh, there are lots of things about the software I hate and its miles behind tesla. There's always some glitch with the software. Ford is a car company, they're not a tech company, and an EV is a tech product. They'll make good looking cars, but their software is junk. picture windows 8.

That's BS. Just because you have a Ford dealer near you does not mean they have a technician to fix it.

Many of you are lucky enough to have a home that you can charge at. But a lot of the country lives in condos and apts where they cant just plug in overnight.
Great point, and thanks for doing the numbers. You motivated me. I have Solar so electricity is free. Check with your utility if they have incentives for supercharger installs at multi-dwelling/condos.
