What the heck? This is a old model, never $90, and normal price. How is this a deal and front page?
I have this. It's part of the tough system 1.0. The following goes in it: a 20v 6.5" circular saw, a 20v driver, 20v drill, 20v oscillator, 20v LED Hand Held Area Light, a 20v 4.5" circular saw, a 6ah battery, and two 5ah batteries. Yes they're all in there and the lid closes.
I have this size and two small. The large size handles broke and ripped the plastic when transporting it. I cannot recommend this product from a durability standpoint. I'd look into the RIDGID version of this.

I have the Rigid equivalent and really like it. IIRC, all the brands at this size were on sale at Home Depot when I purchased, and the Rigid felt like the best value. The DeWalt did have a really slick latch system that felt premium (just not worth the extra cost for me).

Both Ridgid and Dewalt modular storage systems are made by the same manufacturer. The ToughSystem 2.0 and the Pro Gear Gen 2 have very similar latch system. The ToughSystem 1.0 uses a different latch system.

Amazon actually got fined about 10 years ago for this... Just Google Amazon false reference price + fine.

I only mentioned Amazon because they were found guilty and paid the price.
Aha! I had not heard of that.
Still, if a $36billion dollar "fine" didn't keep Bezos from cheating on his wife, I suspect a $2mil fine is not going to keep him from continuing to lie to his customers Smilie

The most bizarre part of that false reference price judgement to me is that apparently he is only prohibited from lying to his customers until 4/1/24 (April Fools? Coincidence?), after which time it's, apparently, totally OK to go back to fraud....I guess gives the State Attorney of California something to do every few years? wow.

The worst example I have been seeing most of my life is diamond jewelry at department stores. Always 60-80% off.

In my area there was a store that operated for about a year called on sale. They said everything was on sale. The prices were horrible but their theory was if people think they are getting a deal you can charge whatever you want.

When kmart went under locally, they had a clearance sale for over a year, no good deals to be had.
finding deals takes effort, something most people are unwilling to do, sadly. they would rather walk up to a sign that says 20%off, pay twice what the item cost last week, and pat themselves on the back for their brilliance. so long as most of the population is unwilling yo put forth any effort, there's no reason for these scammers and lairs to stop their tactics - they work!
