It's been this price with coupon code for me the last couple of weeks, wanna replace an aging fire stick from 2017 with this but...that interface is sooo bad. Unfortunately Roku stick doesn't do Atmos.

this doesnt require a coupon code, the last post of this product required one and didn't work for me which turned it into a YMMV sorta deal. Seems like Amazon finally opened the floodgates for anyone. We needed a Fire Stick cause our older tv doesnt have certain apps we wanted to watch, also has FreeVee which has awesome free content
Can anyone confirm whether or not this works with the Spectrum app (or...vs vs)? Just signed onto their service, have a TV that I need a streaming device for and...can't seem to get a definitive answer. See some online claiming it does now, as does the Spectrum tech that was at my house, but...others saying no.

I can confirm it works, but I sold it because there was no way to backend a USB-> wired ethernet so I went back to Google TV which worked out as I sideload anyways. I also have one of these Firestick 4k max and I just can't get over how user hostile the GUI is. I put in the basement on a rarely used TV. Leave it to Amazon to ruin a perfectly capable piece of hardware. The actual settings system and setup is far superior to Google IMHO.

I'm the family IT guy. My mother-in-law moved and the Spectrum install tech mentioned using a Fire Stick so I had the MIL buy three Fire Stick Maxes.
The Spectrum app does not work. It's not available in their app store so I side-loaded it. The app presented a message that it wasn't compatible with the device. We sent them back.

Yeah I read that but wasn't 100% sure on it. Currently have an old Ultimate hooked up to my living room TV and use older fire stick mostly due to Atmos. But maybe I'll give the Roku stick (I have 2 hooked up to other tvs) a shot.

Still too expensive. If they want people to upgrade to 4k max, they need to drop the price to $25.
You set the industry up for the fail. These sticks may cost $25 to manufacture, that is why every other stick is more costly because they need to make money on it. As a result of the low price (and they need to make margin somehow) Amazon spies on your every habit the the GUI is setup for you to buy things from their store so the tradeoff in $10-$20 is the worst GUI in the industry and the entire workflow designed for you to buy something from them. So certainly there are those who will sacrifice to save $10-$20 but there is a good portion of the population that just wants to get to their favorite app, be able to do an easy global search, not be bombarded by ads, and not be continually spied upon. I happen to be in that camp, but surely not everyone agrees as the Fire Stick product remains popular.
