Didn't pickup in store yet
I have a few bucks amazon credit making the price down to $634
i have the 5% back Prime card, so I'd get ~32 credit back as well.
amazon delivery time is showing feb 8, way faster than the ~month they normally take on tv's
i'd rather it just cause the 75s555 to drop to 649 tho, that'd be the best outcome.

Now with $50 less I ordered hisense.
One selling point for me is bluetooth in hisense, so I can use headphones.
I don't know about this tcl, but I've found TCL generally inferior.
I don't see how the picture can get much better for broadcast, bluray and hdr sources than what this tv offers at $650. yes I do know it can, but it's very negligent unless you're really bumping up to an oled or focusing on specs more than taking in the picture and have money burning in your pocket for a u8h but not enough for an oled. this is my second generation of hisense panels, coming from a 2015/16 65" that's still going.
I suppose the panel could be seen as dim depending how you configure/view and ambient. I don't have that complaint, but could see how others could get there
edit - pulled the trigger on this one! have had good luck with Hisense so far.

Rtings doesn't show a huge improvement for the u7 over the u6. The u8 is a big improvement (according to rtings) but there's a good price increase as well. I decided the $350 wasn't worth the u7 over the u6 (personally)
