If you have friends, locally or online, play this with them. The games are good solo, but are way more enjoyable with someone (it can speed things along significantly with finishing up collectathon side quests). I don't have the switch version so I don't know if there's matchmaking, but you should be able to find someone to play with.
Borderlands 1 is really good but something I've noticed with my friends, it can start out sort of slow at first but it starts to really pick up. I liked it from the beginning and you may as well, but it's something to keep in mind if you don't find you're enjoying yourself in the beginning.
Borderlands 2 is better in nearly every way and hit a homerun as a sequel. Seriously one of the best games of its generation.
Borderlands the Pre Sequel is kind of boring. They introduced a zero gravity mechanic that just slows the pace of the game to a crawl. It's worth a playthrough if you're interested in the story, but definitely don't start with this one. The dlc for it was better than the main campaign imo (forgot the name but it's cyber themed dlc).
Speaking of dlc, for BL1 you definitely should play the knoxx dlc and the zombie dlc (ignore the collect brains side quests in the zombie dlc though, it takes forever to complete.
For BL2 the tiny tina dlc is really good.
It's probably one of the greatest co op games out there. Funny, atmospheric (weird western scifi with hillbillies and murderous psychos who spout off some pretty hilarious one liners in combat if you pay attention), pretty good music that fits the tone of the game. The side quests in BL2 are just a joy to play (most of them anyways) for the humor itself. Oh and it also has probably the absolute best villains/antagonists in any game ever, handsome jack. Look up any list of best video game villains/antagonists of all time and he'll be on nearly every one of them.
An fps rpg done right. If you for whatever reason give up on the first one, try a bit of the second one before giving up on the franchise.

Yes, definitely worth it. If you have the time play 1 (main storyline only about 20 hours) then jump into 2 which is the best in the series and then play the Pre-Sequel

Looks like I already own the Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary (DLC), since it was free for a limited time 3 years ago.

If you're ok with 30fps as opposed to the 60fps it gets on every other console. For a lot of people, myself included, 60fps is an absolute necessity for shooters.
Yes….
It's absolutely worth $10 but it's a sizeable bit of storage if you want all of it so have an empty SD card ready. I'd echo what people have said: BL2 is great and improves on the first game and the PS is enjoyable but finds itself hard to measure up to 2. I've purchased this game for the 360, repurchased the Handsome Jack collection, and bought this on the Switch. I just wish I could use the save editors on the Switch. It's fun to play through the campaign straight and then after, see what crazy guns you can create.
