I have a tcl android tv that's very laggy. Especially with Disney plus lately. Can I expect this fire stick to fix that?

Also opinions on this versus the Chromecast?

Yes. You have the correct thinking. Fire stick max should blow away the default TV os.

Most TVs OS are laggy. Its best to use a streaming device. I personally like Roku Ultra.

Thanks for the replies. The strange thing is it only seems to be Disney plus that has the issue. Video keeps stopping and starting. Netflix and Hulu are fine.

fire tv max is very responsive. if you can wait, sometimes is cheaper around prime days.

trade-in promo is nice too - anyone know if you trade a really old chromecast device, how much they scrutinize? I have a gen 1 that does even show on their trade list that I want to get in (someone previously suggested I select any chromecast and send in the gen 1).

Amazon annoys me a bit with the Max because they obviously don't mind selling it sub $35 but they prefer to yoyo it rather than just leave it marked down

There is a YouTube about adding emulators to this and using Bluetooth controller --that would be my reason to upgrade from the base 4k stick. Does anyone have experience playing games on the Max?
