The sale is back again - its on the rel website (no tax for most states) or best buy and some other stores have it on sale as well. Seems like they are getting rid of the old version stock.

Has some good reviews I'm going to try it for the price. I wish the 15in predator version was on sale again!

i don't have this model, but i currently have the REL 1508. I also tried the SVS SB2000 pro. they were about $1000 when i bought it back in the spring. i like the REL a lot more. the SVS app is cool and all but feel like a gimmick to me.

the REL is noticeably better when playing music. but when watching movies, it's hard to tell them apart. in the case of the 1508, it takes XRL cables and has a passthrough XRL, which is a huge plus. the lower models unfortunately do not.

in the appearance department, i think the REL is better too. SVS has the wood finish and the glossy piano finger print magnet finish. neither of which really works with most furniture. this REL sub is black but not glossy. it looks great

i like my 1508 so much that i just bought the 1205 sub from this sale for my summer house. i'm not even cross shopping at this point. i really like this brand.
What this sub needs is the name REL plastered all over it in a few more places.
Go with the REL from this deal, particularly the HT/1205.

With the current sale, the REL is punching well above its competitors at their respective deal price points (you're looking at the SVS-SB1000 at $400 and Monolith by Monoprice M10 at $450).

This would be a different story at normal price points, with more folks on the internet seemingly going for SVS or Monolith, but personally, if I didn't already have my sub setup and was in the market for a sub, I'd definitely go for this deal.

How does compare to the SVS and Monolith subwoofers? I tend to see deals for those subs as well. Thanks in advance

I don't know this brand but I can testify to svs. They had a phenomenal memorial day special where I got a sb2000 for under 400 and it makes me regret that I have a jbl 10in paired with it. I have a wall of subs in my basement that I don't use because that thing is so perfect. I can't recommend svs enough. I even wear their free shirt lol

Been hunting for sub deals for a few months now, do they do Memorial Day sales every year? Sounds like a great deal I can wait for

They do (as well as sales on a handful of the other holidays during the year like July 4th, Black Friday, etc.). But an SVS SB-2000 for under $400 is more the exception than the norm for SVS sales. You can do a historical search on SD to see what the more normal $400 sale sub is (spoiler: it's the SB-1000).

I believe so. They shut down their outlet site the day before. I think it was 9 am they open back up. I wanted the ported box but it was sold out at like 9:10 so u have to get there early. Bet u could search slickdeals "svs" and find what they had available

This (and the SVS SB models) are sealed not ported. They will not go as low as similarly priced ported subwoofers (SVS PB models, most Monoliths). But sealed is often considered "cleaner" and better for music, with ported better for home theater use.

That's exactly what I'm waiting for in a port-type sub such as the SVS PB-1000 for HT use. Hopefully, it'll be on sale at some point for around $500 Smilie

I was eyeing this the last time it went on sale... but ended up passing and getting the 12" Monolith as -- based on all of the ratings/reviews/feedback I found -- it's better for home theater which was what I was looking to use it for.

Funny. I have no need, but was poking around offerup, and someone down the street from me was selling a like new Def Tech ProSub 800 for $25. 300w rms 8" with a passive radiator. Perfect small bedroom sub. And could always sell it for a profit if need be.

This guy will probably give a better answer that I could: https://youtu.be/5Gw3bcG7Wik

For me, I wanted something that would work well with music and movies - I watch a lot of tv shows so nothing with too crazy explosions so I was looking at sealed instead of ported sub. I also have a rel t5i for my music system and it works very well.

I would like to try Rythmik someday but I think this will do nicely for now considering the price.
