I ask myself; Why do they insist to manufacture High Fructose Corn Syrup Based Preserves like this? ...It is so unfortunate.

I answer yourself: because people buy it.
It's on the label, every purchaser has free will, they can buy or not.
See, that's how economics/markets work.
If people buy stuff, they make more of it, if people stop buying, they stop making it.
Supply/Demand.

How about if there is no Aldis in your town?
The stores in your city/region are not everywhere.

Does everyone else play the Subscribe and Save game? I am increasingly placing subscribe and save orders at the big discount and then cancel the subscription once I get the product. Will Amazon cut me off? Is this done by others? I bet so.

Don't buy GMO cancer laden HFCS based syrups. Garbage.
What a bunch of nonsense! There is no scientific evidence showing any link whatsoever between GMOs and cancer. There is no direct link known between HFCS and cancer either. What we do know is that excessive consumption of fructose often leads to obesity which increases the risk of cancers associated with obesity. Calling any food "cancer-laden" is ignorant at best.

I think Amazon expects it and just hopes that some people will forget and not cancel to make up for the vast majority that do cancel right afterwards…lol! And no, they won't cut you off…most of us would have been cut off years ago if so.

I'm tempted to bite on this just because I didn't even know pineapple preserves were a thing that existed until now. Pretty sure I've never seen it on store shelves...maybe it's a regional thing? OR maybe I'm just not very observant, that's also entirely possible
You might see the pineapple around the ice cream sauces.

So, this is how some of us, like me, feel when we constantly see those many comments comparing prices to Costco. No Costco anywhere near me, but it can be helpful to read how much the item is being offered elsewhere.

Cheap and shelf stable. Perfect for selling out of an Amazon warehouse. All about profits.

but you have to be careful, it's easy to forget about them, and then one day you receive a dozen items you weren't expecting. and, i'm not sure about this, but it seems that sometimes the items are no longer the price you originally paid, but are back up to their normal, pre-sale, pre-SS price.

Your right - the savings are always on the first order. I make a habit to cancel the subscribe when I receive the item. Maybe 30 seconds of effort

They've gotten me before. I've bought new products at Costco that look good and then read the labels at home and think "Aw F...."
I pay special attention to products that practically shout on the labelling "No Preservatives!" and "All Natural Ingredients!" Those are the ones that are usually laced with franken substitutes like HFCS. shake head
