Decent deal on "grade a" Optiplex Windows Pro desktop for $319 (519 with 200 off).

i7-8700 with 32gb ddr4 w/old 2gb radeon r5 430, and 512GB ssd. USB-C w/displayport for 3rd out = very decent little triple-monitor stock-trader and number-crunching workstation for $320 shipped.

Always liked the i7 8700; this antique should crunch numbers swimmingly for the next decade. RAM and CPU alone get you to over $300. Decent deal--needed a cheap workstation that still had some grunt.

Thank you, OP.

Dell refurb are 3+ years old and they have fake prices with coupons EVERY week. 30-40% off is normal
Glen's an expert and taught me about getting the cashback. First register with Cap On Shopping. Don't need to be a Cap One card user. Search Dell Refurb cashback offerings. May not get much many times. Keep checking. One day, you'll get a 20%/30%/40% offering. It may not need to be for the exact product you're looking for. For example, I chose a laptop cashback and got the cashback for a non-laptop. I'm not sure how Cap One would know by just a transaction total. It'll take 5-7 days likely to see it in Cap One. Then it will take awhile before you can convert it to a gift certificate for a vendor.

Like all cashbacks, it's not perfect; but Capital One is a large reliable financial institution. If you've done it correctly, they're not going to deny it later.

Don't hate the cashback if it only shows you 5% or whatever. Just keep trying every day or a few times a day. Add something to the Dell Refurb cart then remove it. Play with it. With modern AI these days, they'll get a signal that you didn't make a purchase and suddenly you get a better cashback (only a guess).

Choose the Dell Refurb deals regardless of the cashback. However, if you get a 15%-40% cashback, it's gravy. You know that with Cap One you'll get the credit eventually - as long as it shows up within a week. If it doesn't show up as a pending within a week, then you might not have done it right. Maybe you were trying to work more than one cashback, or you deleted the cookies before purchasing from Dell Refurb. Whatever.

If you want a seasoned expert's advice, ask Glen.

What's the best graphics card you could put into that?
You could put a substantial card, but it's smaller form-factor: so full-sized monsters are probably out.

Can anyone convince me why I shouldn't buy the U3419W 34" IPS monitor that comes out to ~$270 after coupon? I'm only using it for work and productivity, so it being 60Hz doesn't matter to me. I've been looking for an ultrawide 34 and the amount of features this comes with trumps all the recent LG monitor deals I've seen. Thanks!

Dell refurb are 3+ years old and they have fake prices with coupons EVERY week. 30-40% off is normal
So lets start with the 3+ years old. So what? I only buy grade A and 8th Gen and newer. As soon as order is complete you geet a list of your service codes. Everything i've purchased has been 3.5 years old +/- a couple of months. That a 3 year lease to a business and then time to ship back, refurbish, and put back on market. There "regular" prices are better than the same models anywhere else and come with 100 day warranty and in factory boxes. If you check frequently there are unitthat are "on sale" from 8-25% off then combine the coupon of the week--most are 30-35% off, and then Cashback sites that can be 2.5%, 5%, 8%, 10%, 21%, up to 30%. I've been able to and have detailed how to regularly get 30% back. Then an credit card rewards too.
I bought 10 of these yesterday.

Dell Latitude 7290 Notebook, 12.5-in HD (1366 x 768), Webcam, 1x Intel Core i5 Quad (i5-8350U) 1.70 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, No Optical, Intel Integrated Graphics, Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10 Professional

$219 - 35% 2 day sale = $142.35 and 30% CB from one of the big CB tools. = $99.64 - 2% CC cashback. = $97.65 Final cost to me. So please before you speak as to the quality of a deal...be prepared to show a better one. I'm a reseller and I'm buying tons of these for my store and clients. Quality has been fantastic as compared to any other place I've bouh refurbished for the last 30 years.

Heck the cost to upgrade for 10 Home to 10 Pro is normally $100 buy itself. But please keep knocking the deal, so there's more for me. Like anything else the best models go fast.

I bought all 39 of these yesterday. Dell Professional Series 21.5" (P2217H). Perfect for dual monitor displays. 22" w/ DP. $89 - 35% coupon - 30% CB - 2% CC CB = ~$40.

Have a great day...meanwhile..I'll be buying more..There are also great deals on Precisions annd I've seen some 9th, 10th, and 11th Gens lately. Picked up a Surface Book 2 (yes they have thme sometimes). Perfect condition selling everywhere refurbished for $699 and up --my net cost was $300.

good deal,

I got a HP Z2 G4 with I7-8700, 32 GB and 1 GB AMD graphic card ( that has a additional Display Port and a DVI output for total of 4 video outputs) + 640gb hdd + 2 year warranty for like $333

I have added a 1GB SSD for $70.

I would have gone for this if I had not bought my system. Where did you see the info on the USB C with display port output?

I am not a big Dell workstation fan. Their lower end workstations seem more problem prone than most other brands. None of the Dell desktops that I have ever worked on will take a standard sized motherboard making upgrades a pretty short dead end. HP and Leveno also seem to use non standard motherboard sizes which cause the same problems.

Most of these Dell refurb deals are so-so, but sometimes they have really good models with good discounts. Recently I got a B-condition Latitude 7000 series laptop with 1920x1080 screen, i7-8000 series quad core cpu, 16GB RAM, and a 500 GB SSD for like $250-260ish after a promo discount. It arrived looking brand new. I don't think you can get a decently speced laptop like that for under $300 anywhere else...on ebay they'd probably be going for the $400s range..

Thank you.

My original post was to say that this sort of 35% off deal was normal for dell refurb. I have bought many items from there.

The OP didnt post any specific deals- the best deal was a latitude 7390 with i5 8th gen and 16gb/512gb for $180 but not with these coupons - it was a $35% off anything that expired yesterday
