I got it for 383 before tax on 2020 bf. So seems not a good price for a 2-3 year old wifi mesh. If I can choose again I will try some other brand. Eero need a subscription for a lot of advanced features such as checking usage for more than one week and so on.

I got the 6+ in Oct on lightning deal for $125 incl tax after router credit. I don't like having to use the app on my phone to set it up. It's fairly stable, but recently my voip phone on a fixed lan IP address somehow lost its internet connection. Other devices were not affected. I rebooted the eero and linksys pap several times. Then reset the eero. Then reset the pap2t which was a big mistake since it entailed customer support to reconfigure, but finally got back online.

This is spot on, and my sentiments exactly. I wouldn't have invested $600 into 6 Eero devices had I know they were going to jack up the price of their premium subscription from $3 to $10.

They work perfectly fine without a subscription, i love mine. have regular 6 and they are incredibly stable and have been the best router i've had since an apple router in 2010

Buy an orbi pro mesh instead. Price has been close to $300 several times recently. Some warehouse options for sub 300 available.

I have had the 3 mesh eero pro for the past 3 years. Great routers and very easy to setup. If you want full access to the interface, you need to signup to eero plus which is 9.99 per month of 99.99 per year. Otherwise, you won't even be able to look at your data log for more than one week.

It won't even show more than one week of data usage unless you subscribe to eero plus…
Security filters etc all those also fall under eero plus. In one word, limited routers without the subscription.

TBH, stable should not be an expectation for a $300/$600 router, it can be achievable by most $100 router(s) if not $20 ones.

================= lots of the premium features can be supported by a 2010 router with tomato firmware

With eero Plus, you also get access to these premium features:
Historical Data
Internet Backup
Ad Blocking
Advanced Security
DDNS
Content Filters
Block Apps
VIP Support
Encrypt.me
Malwarebytes
1Password
