Lowest price I've seen. Wish it has the 3060.

MSI is considered a premium hardware brand, more so than ASUS.

MSI was originally formed in BC1972 by Ug and Uggh Stonebone. They used to be famous for their hand chiseled granite computer cooling solutions. Longevity for days.

Some are good but this is a low end model with old hardware.

5500M is GTX 1650M level performance. RTX 3050M is 50% faster. This needs to drop another $200 before it's a good deal.

I'm not seeing that, but I agree with the statement of this being low-end.

Thanks, it might be a little better than I thought. It can vary a lot depending on the power limit of the cards being tested. I looked here: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...5vsm775280

Notebookcheck tested what looks like this very laptop: https://www.notebookcheck.net/MSI...544.0.html

I Have an HP Victus with 5600h and rx 5500m. I am a bit of an AMD fanboy admittedly, and my last 3 laptops have been all AMD, and my desktop is all AMD as well. From my research before purchasing, the RX 5500m tends to perform between the 1650 and the 3050 in most gaming situations. I found a 1650 tends to be a bit under the 1080p, 60fps goal I wanted, the 3050 tended to be a bit above and the RX 5500m met my goals. I tend to be able to play most titles at 1080p, 60fps at a medium graphic setting. I don't own this exact laptop, but would imagine similar performance with the same GPU and CPU.

I think of the 5500m as a bit on the low end, and I will say that a RTX 3050 at the same price point would be a bit better performance wise. the benefit this laptop has over others in a similar price bracket is the 16gb ram and 512 gb nvme. Most options at this price will most likely come with 8/256. I think that MSI makes decent stuff, and this would work well for what it is, but I wouldn't expect latest AAA titles at high settings, but as a ready to go laptop, I think this is pretty solid right out of the box.
