I just found this game for 5.99 on the Nintendo website. It seems it is $20ish in other places. It gets pretty good reviews.

This is one of the best kid's games of all time.

Would recommend to adults too if you enjoy unique games.

I recommend turning on the touch keyboard in the settings, and playing portable.

Thanks op, just got it for my 8 year old and it's the first game that's gotten him distracted from Mario maker 2. Seems like a great game. Agree with crinttae, make sure you turn on touch in options, other wise typing text is annoying.

No, the original one came out somewhere around 2010 for the DS.

Agreed. Great game for teaching the tots how to spell. Also great for broadening their imagination. Who doesn't like conjuring a purple ice dragon to terrorize the townspeople?
