1 post. 10 rep. sonos got some good astroturfing don't they.

this is why i don't trust them. didn't even answer my question, just gave me some generic spiel.
You're right to not trust new accounts, but you're wrong to accuse them of being a shill without evidence. Lurking for a year or two is totally fine in my book. I can easily accuse you of being a shill for the site, and are just being aggressively dismissive of low activity users to drive engagement, which is also totally a thing that happens in online communities.

It's going to give you a much fuller soundstage, and it will do a decent job with bass (for a soundbar, anyways). These units have had issues in the past, but they're tolerable with some workarounds. The Arc absolutely shines with the bass module, and cheap ikea symofonisk surrounds. It's my favorite system to listen to tv and more casual movies on, and I have a THX rated home cinema set up to fall back on if I need it. If the price jump is too much for you, and you need more details, search for someone named "Peter Pee" on youtube. He does a great job of breaking down the performance characteristics of the Arc in layperson (non-audiophile) terms. If you're already in the Sonos ecosystem or think you ever will be, it's a no brainer to work around the few fussy issues with this particular product in order to have it integrate with the rest of your Sonos system. If not, then yeah there's other options like Bose, Samsung, etc.
What is your THX rated system?

I have Sonos Arc at the moment now. It has only one hdmi Input. Soundbar doesnot provide output to TV. This means you have to connect you AppleTV streamer direct to TV and then connect to Sonos ARC. If TV is not passing thru the high bandwidth sound, you will end up losing all of dolby sound. System is all hyped up. Dolby atmos is not great. You will be stuck with what your TV provides as sound output.

If you have eARC from TV then maybe - you can get away with limitations. If your TV is not equipped with eARC HDMI - You will have no way to get Dolby. Even if you add on HDFury (300$), you will have lot of handshake issues.

I am trying to Return mine asap. Look for Q990B.

Costco has the Beam for $400 with a voucher for a free wall mount ($50 value from Sonos) and $40 Apple gift card included in the box: https://www.costco.com/sonos-beam...16447.html

It seems like a solid deal to me if you're thinking of picking a Beam up anyway and looking to wall mount.

I have three Monoprice THX-365IW mounted behind an acoustically transparent projection screen, along with the 10 inch Monolith sub, and some of their cheaper in wall surrounds. I love it all to death for jazz music and well mixed movies, but for a lot of things it's not necessary.

Sure, I'll see you in the next Sonos post shill. What an interesting account name you have, sounds like one of those generic Chinese brands on Amazon. You're not fooling anyone.

Just out of curiosity, have you been burned badly by somebody/some company on here? What happened? https://twitter.com/omgjjd

I'm not disagreeing, but aren't pretty much all higher end TVs from the last few years equipped with eARC outputs?

I mean, if you're dropping $750 on a sound bar shouldn't you have a great picture?

FWIW, I ended up having syncing issues with the arc and my lg set(eARC connection) and returned it. Bought a lg oled c1 in December, and the sound from the set is terrific.

That isn't you.

Just out of curiosity, why do you care so much about what other people on the internet think? When I called you out, what possessed you to prove me, someone who has no weight on your life, wrong?

You're a sonos shill and that ain't you son.

Looking to get the Beam Gen 2. What are the chances this will get below $400 sooner than later or should I just scoop it up now? I don't mind getting an open box / refurb. In fact, considering jumping on Best Buy open box at $360.

Sonos Beam (Gen 2) White BEAM2US1 - Best Buy [bestbuy.com]
i bought two open box in excellent from best buy. 1 beam was a little scratched up so i returned it, and a sub mini was ok but it did have some spots on the top that i couldnt take out but it works like new. i dunno im not sure if i totally trust it.
