I just was able to get someone on chat at TigerDirect,
Please call our Credit Team to verbally confirm your order. The number to call is 800 682 1042. Thank you
I then called the number , and person said there is problem with apple product (wrong pricing?) , and you have to call C.S. and she transfered me, and nobody is picking up yet.
... 10 minutes later, someone picks up.
They told me they had problems over the weekend with wrong prices on website, and ALL those orders will be cancelled. I told him how are we to trust your site to buy anything, and he said give us a call to check the price on their site is correct.
I told him many people are wondering why didn't you cancel everybody, if you know they are cancelled. He said we are working on it.
p.s. Seeing I am getting some thumbs down for posting my experience, ... are you downvoting the message or trying to KILL the Messenger.

Maybe TigerDirect has been discussing this issue right now, at their HeadQuarters, should they honor this deal,or create Black Stain on their reputation, and create PR nightmare.
Mistakes happen, and a company should have mechanism in place to spot it Quickly , and honor their price mistake, ... and immediately shutting down the price mistake ....when they are aware of situation, ASAP, so consumers stay happy that got the deal, and shorten the response time on their site to catch mistake.

I respect your OPINION but I have a different opinion.
If Tigerdirect HONORS their price ... and ships out these units... then we would give Thumbs up to Tigerdirect! If the second this deal was flagged as price mistake, then company took it offline, so nobody else buying this would be able to buy it, and then the people that did buy, recieved it at price paid, then thumbs up. This deal was LIVE on their website for hours, and many people placed orders. Having all those orders cancelled creates mis-trust in Tigerdirect. Amazon does honor their price mistakes, and generally, stops them fast, ... and takes the product offline. Tigerdirect didn't take it offline for hours. And if I get cancelled will NOT trust Tigerdirect again. That is my opinion.
Honor deal ... thumbs up.

First and foremost, TigerDirect doesn't care about its reputation. Most people haven't even heard of them before now. While they used to be a somewhat reputable company, and bought up the assets of defunct companies that were reputable, that was a long time ago. They've been sold and resold over the years and could care less what people think about them.
I can also guarantee you that no one at TD HQ is even contemplating honoring this deal. Apple products are sold very close to cost at MSRP. For current gen products, the margin might be 5%. They aren't going to take a 45% hit out of pocket to make people feel loved. These deals went viral and tens of thousands of orders were placed across all the products. That would be millions of dollars in loses.
Also, Apple protects its brand very strongly and doesn't let authorized resellers sell products at massive discounts. They heavily regulate that stuff. I *can* guarantee you that the higher ups at BB have been in touch with Apple on this, and Apple will be speaking to TD. But not to say "you should honor those you sold" but instead to say "don't you dare think about selling our stuff at those prices and you are at risk of losing your authorized status".
If a 3rd party is involved that is a different story with Amazon, they cancel.
I have had very good experience with Amazon honoring their price mistakes, so I trust amazon, and I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon because of this.

And I did read in this thread that BEST BUY did contact Apple. To see if Apple would give price break to Best Buy if they price matched. And Apple said NO!
Maybe the company gets sold a lot because of their shady practices. Should Slick Deals list TigerDirect as not trustworthy company? Slick Deals I'm sure removes many scam type threads on a daily basis, TigerDirect seems like they belong in that catagory to me (if this deal is not honored).

No it wasn't. It was sold direct by Tiger Direct. Nothing on any of the item pages said nor implied it was a third party seller. That was just something Best Buy claimed, erroneously, to reject price matching. The website clearly showed it was coming from a TD warehouse like all their other products.

I don't think it was sold by 3rd party on Tiger Direct. When I checked it was sold by Tiger Direct and there was NO 3rd party listed. If you disagree, do snapshot of where you see who the 3rd party is, do you know the 3rd pary company name?
