I've never had an order canceled. The prices are higher for some stores. For Aldi and Costco, they are 10% higher. For Walmart, they are the same price as in store, as far as I can tell. I usually only use Instacart when they send promo, which ends up making the order cheaper than buying directly. Much better than Uber Eats etc, where the prices are much more bloated and fees outrageously high.

They have canceled my orders several times, once I went to pickup my order, but no one from Instacart went to pickup my items. The price of the items is about 20 percent higher than the actual price in stores. To me it's a scam

Thanks! I have an elderly aunt who just asked me to put in an order for her via Instacart for Costco. Her order is about $250, so the $50 savings is great! Paying the small markup and tip is totally worth it, she still drives but Costco is a little further out so this way she doesn't have to bother anyone for a ride. She loves it.

that's not correct. It's about 10% markup at aldi and other stores have in-store pricing. It's around 8-10% at sam's/costco . Sometimes you don't get deals like 4/$12 soda or whatever. Service fee depends. At warehouse stores like costco I think it is 2% service fee and at other stores it seems like 5% service fee with $2.50 service fee minimum. Sam's club has $1 service fee minimum and costco no minimum.

If you tip low or order a lot, you are coming out ahead even with delivery.

With aldi you save like 17% over shopping at the store by doing pickup

Avoid this if you are planning to use promo codes - the regular $30-40 off offers

Instacart will lock your account and you can say good-bye to your $200 gift card balance. They will not refund it under no circumstances.

The worst and most pathetic customer service in my entire 20 years of experience dealing with any retailer/merchant. Been 5 months, still fighting them

I wouldnt trust them my $250

There are lots of cases like mine. Quick reddit search will show

I use Instacart quite often and am a big fan. Take all the negative feedback with a grain of salt. People expect grocery delivered to their doorstep but don't want to pay anything extra over getting it yourself.

I'd say stick to stores that have in store pricing - which Instacart is very transparent about. Sprouts, Walmart etc are all same price as the store.

Tip generously to the shoppers if you can for their hard work.

Lastly, anytime I've had issues - they're quick to refund the cost of item.
