36v- would this make a good candidate for a dual Ryobi battery conversion so the batteries could be hot swapped?

It may be a good enough unisex bike, but it's no Hurley Davison.

Marketing will say anything to milk a few more sales.

"Let's call this woman's bike a 'step through' and see if we can get men to buy them (while shedding any dignity they might have otherwise had)."

What difference does what's between a person's legs mean when it comes to getting your leg over a bike easier?

A century ago, when women wore dresses for their Sunday afternoon ride, it made sense to differentiate between men's and women's designs, but that went out the window long ago. People really need to let go of such outdated ideas.

Great entry level price. 250w is quite weak when it comes to hub motors though. Do not expect to hit that 20MPH max speed with throttle alone. I have a different 250w and it hits about 13-14MPH on throttle.

My 500w can hit 20MPH on throttle, and my 750w can hit about 24-25MPH.

But realistically, even 13-14MPH is plenty fast for most casual bikers - certainly as fast if not faster than what the average non-cyclists can do.

that's smart. Sucks that we can't have nice things without worrying about it getting snatched.

I'm in NYC. Even if you lock up your bike with kryptonite locks it's not safe.

The other day I saw some vagrants clip the extended battery pack off of a delivery guy's Arrow bike. They just took bolt cutters and cut the whole rear rack off with the battery.
in NYC do people just watch when stuff like this happens? Nobody intervenes?

Pretty much. Most people aren't going to risk their lives or getting injured to protect someone's else's property. And most people don't care about food delivery drivers.

I was in a car at a stop light when I saw it happening, and this was right by Grand Central.

It happens so fast that you don't even realize what's happening until it's too late.

The different crossbars haven't made sense to me since I was in grade school, 40 years ago. Like, I was told about the dresses thing but my reaction was, why didn't they just make the women's angled crossbar standard for everyone? Surely no one cares. But lo and behold here are people talking about men giving up their dignity if the crossbar is slanty. It makes as much sense to me as gendered forks or packing tape.

Does not have the horizontal bat that goes from the seat to the front.
This has the diagonal 'woman bike' bar.
I never understood this.
Makes more sense to have the diagonal on a Men's bike to protect the McNuggets.

There are some strength, weight, and performance advantages to the non-step-through frame, but that doesn't really matter on a bike of this type.

You do not want to be going at 20 mph on a lightweight bike with those narrrow road cruiser wheels. Even a tiny pebble will cause you to wipe out. Pay a few extra bucks now and save on the hospital bills later.
