If you're going to spend the $749, I'd suggest considering buying it from Sonos for $799 for the microphone version. I've stopped using Alexa, but I love Sonos Voice Control. If you're using Ones (with the microphone) as surrounds, you don't really need a microphone on the arc. You used to not be able to use the microphone on Ones as surrounds, but they enabled it with an update. Also, the only difference between the Costco Arc SL and regular Arc is the microphone and the SL is just slightly lighter grayish black.

What can you do with the voice control if you don't use Alexa? I didn't think I would ever need voice control, but your post intrigued me.

I think the main draw is that Sonos voice commands are processed locally on the device and no data or transcripts are sent to the cloud. It also works very well for controlling various Sonos groups/rooms.

What sort of commands can you give? Something like "Increase volume, decrease volume, etc.?

I stopped using Alexa for my smart home control, but I only really used her to turn the TVs on or off, or adjust the thermostat.
Sonos Voice Control is done on device, so it doesn't send anything to the cloud, but it currently doesn't do things like give the weather, operate lights, or control the thermostat. I hope they add some of that eventually because I think it works really well so far. I use it mostly to turn the tv on or off, and to adjust volume up or down. It's also been nice to skip or replay songs, or ask for a particular song or artist to be played.
You can still use Alexa and Sonos Voice control at the same time (but Google doesn't let you use both.) Here's a list of the Sonos voice commands that are supported right now:
