I own both. In my opinion, the paddle is better for use in the shower, as it vents for drainage. It's also 20% larger than the original; one stroke brushes a wider section of hair so it's great for working conditioner through the hair. The original is smaller and easier to hold, as it's less bulky. I personally use a paddle brush when I'm in the shower; otherwise, I use the original wet brush. Both do a great job on tangles.

For those who've never used a Wet Brush and have tangly hair, I highly recommend trying one.

You can find these kind of brushes at TJ Maxx, Marshalls for a lesser price.

Since when is FDA allowing clinical trials to be run on hairbrush and what is the comparator?
Who said anything about the FDA?

Would the padded version be good for a dog? Medium to long hair type. She gets pretty tangled out of baths while drying.

I was at Costco this weekend and found a clearance (death-stared, and ending in .97) in-store for the original Wet Brush and a mini packaged together with a ponytail scrunchie for 3.97.

Unfortunately, the only ones left were Disney's Princess Cinderella "version." It looked like they also had a Harry Potter version, which was OOS.

If you're in Costco, take a look... I wouldn't make a specific trip just for it though.

Walmart has conair detangler brushes starting $3.88 everyday price. Got one last week in store. Don't fall for these so called deals at amazon just for the sake of ordering online. SD staff need to up their game. Looks like they are only focused on ad commission. Now bring on the downvotes!

Hi folks. Same brand detangling paddle brushes are selling for $3.99 or less (some design patterns on clearance) @ Marshalls/TJMaxx YMVV
The price online is more.

Since when is FDA allowing clinical trials to be run on hairbrush and what is the comparator brush they used? Also, did they compare to other brushes of similar kind or just 1 brush of an inferior quality?

Just the fact that they have the statement that their brush was found superior in a "clinical trial" shows me a red flag.
It doesn't say FDA, only independent clinical trials (linked Pink-regular style).
Any clinic can conduct a "clinical trial", I wouldn't take a drug that wasn't FDA approved, but who cares about a $5 brush.
That said, it's an excellent brush - even if their copy-writing sucks.

If you need a cheap hairbrush buy one. If not move on to the other stuff you may buy at a discount. And zen

Any recommendations on how to deep clean these brushes? I tried soaking them in hot water and shampoo, but the buildup of dirt on the brushes remain. Otherwise I like the original brushes.
Try putting them in the dishwasher and turn heat dry off.

Quite a leap to go from their claim of independent testing to asserting they are claiming FDA got involved testing brushes

Probably just a reference to consumer product testing like this

Guy with long fin straight hair.

The brush is unicorn wizard magic. I used to rip through my hair in the shower each morning.
Now I glide through my locks like a crystal ship in a calm sea of heavy cream. Thanks, OP. I had no idea these existed.

It's supernatural witchcraft. I am convinced. I had to switch back to my old brush this morning just to make sure the wet brush was working. It's like having your own gossamer deity in the shower whose only concern is your hair's welfare! Thanks, OP!
