Not portable... But I bought the 6 pack of these in 2020 for $450, and have been running my tiny house off of them ever since. They're actually underrated. In perfect conditions I have touched 700w of input off 600w of rated panels.

These have MC4 cables, so the same ones as the provided solar charging cable on all ecoflows (MC4-XT60), so no modifications needed.

Lot of questions about solar here - definitely worth learning before you jump in. Go look at will prowse on YouTube, he's got an insane amount of really great content. Here's a link to a beginner diy setup.

Very new to the solar game, but if I were to use these on a chicken coop (large coop), what else would I need?
if you scroll down on the Amazon product page you will see MPPT charge controller, which you will probably need, and then mounting brackets for the panels themselves which you may or may not need, and also Y Branch parallel adapter cables which you may or may not need, and then of course you will prob need some kind of battery bank and maybe an inverter as well

From what I see it will need a lot more than it's worth. laugh out loud

I've been looking into this also trying to cut down cost. Look like I'd need to spend about 6 or $700 on the solar panels. Than a few more hundreds on the structure. About $100 on the charger and $1k or so on the batteries. Maybe another $100 or $200 to convert all that battery power back to 220VAC or 110VAC for practical house use. Look about right?

Is there any device that can automatically switch to use the grid power 220VAC for when the battery is drained?

MOES Dual Power Controller 50A 5500 Watt Automatic Transfer Switch for Off Grid Solar Wind System ATS DC 12V 24V 48V AC 110V 220V. https://a.co/d/10zUkFZ

I use this for my RV solar setup. Works well when plugged into shore power if you want to supplement with solar.

Is there a reason to buy the 2 or 4 pack instead of saving money by buying them as singles?

Yes, you will need a charge controller. A 20 Watt one would be fine.
You could probably use just 1 panel, just be sure it gets 5 hours of sunlight/day.
Be careful with the order you connect and disconnect the controller, so you don't destroy it.
20 Watt? Do you mean 20 Amp? I think that is what you mean, as 20 Amp would be plenty for this 2 panel setup.

Awesome. Is there an interrupt of power or will it be a smooth transfer? I would hate to go around the house resetting all the clock every time. laugh out loud

* 20 amp controller

And to OP's question, it depends on usage and battery size. A cloudy day can result in very little charging, so oversizing your input/panels is recommended if operation is critical.

Can be effectively used to charge car battery for gate opener?

I am sure that's a typo but to avoid disappointment, use a charge controller to match the size of the panel at 100W or 10A. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Gdcreestar...B08T9CQZY2

Connect/Disconnect: flip the panel over to shade it whenever you change the wiring.

Also get wire gauge to match your setup: https://www.asobolife.com/solar-p...ize-guide/

Good luck!

Thanks for mentioning that. I am looking at expanding my boat solar and already have an inverter and charger so that's worth my investigating.

For others, there are variations with an inverter built in ( https://www.amazon.com/ECO-WORTHY...09FDD6HMJ/ ) or inverter and an AC-to-DC charger ( https://www.amazon.com/ECO-WORTHY...B089GGW2LB ) Note that those are not 12V.

How do the HQST compare to the Renology ones?

This will prob be my stepping stone purchase into solar and only currently have a Bluetti and EcoFlow but would like to build out a system past just those two portable units.

I'm just curious. What is the draw of these panels? I can buy used but fully functional 285W panels for ~$75. These seem crazy expensive.
