Our thermometer actually stopped working after my 3 month warranty ended, so I just bought a manual one, which is probably more accurate anyway so the thermometer is not a big deal. Of course you need to open it to check, which is the negative here, but if you follow your times hopefully you only open at the end and you are good to go if your temperature is right.
Just some thoughts from my experience if you are considering buying this:
-Cooks chicken/salmon very well. No smoke, gets some grill marks, easy and quick and tastes good
-Steak does NOT come out as good as my cast iron. Maybe this is just me, but I find it comes out a bit dry/don't love it for that.
-Great for grilling or air frying vegetables and corn. Pretty versatile and easy to use.
-Nice combo with the air fryer if you don't have one and do not want 2 appliances
-Fairly easy to clean and dishwasher safe is a big plus. You do need to scrape out that grill with the brush if you use a lot of sauce as that gets very messy
-It is fairly LARGE, so you need a decent sized cabinet or pantry to fit this thing.
Overall happy with my purchase of this, I would have loved to have gotten a new one if I had waited instead of my dinged up used one with a wonky thermometer probe.
