Bought this watch a few months ago. Loving it. If you like data, this watch provides tons of it.

If you plan on sleeping regularly with it, want the smartwatch features... go with the 955.
I'm a heavy sweater, so the tactile button on the 6P works better for me than the touchscreen. Takes a bit of time to get used to having the extra weight of the Fenix while running.

That said, I've lost a bunch of weight and the 6 looks pretty ridiculous on my (now) thin wrist. I'd get a 6S if I had to replace this one.

if going for 955, wait till March when its prices will drop as 965 is released.

Got it for $350 +120 of Kohl's cash around black Friday. But I think this is the lowest actual dollar price I've seen

I've been running with a old 935 and love the light weight. At some point I'll be upgrading to the Fenix 7 and will offset the weight with a lighter band. The heavier weight and thickness is what's slowing me from making the upgrade though.

Wife wants a 255 ($350 for non-music version, and $399 for music version). I know nothing about these. She wants it primarily for marathons and to replace an Apple Watch (Series 4) which leads me to believe she also wants some of the smart features.

Any thoughts / suggestions on 255 vs. waiting for 265 vs. this Fenix 6 Pro deal?

I own the 6x Pro Sapphire. I upgraded because I needed Open Water Swimming tracking. If not, I probably would've been fine with my 645. This is the go to watch for most triathletes. Will probably upgrade when the Fenix 8 comes out. Assuming it has some real decent added metrics and capabilities.

I also use a 6X pro sapphire. Great battery life and good metrics.

All very similar. Actually all overkill if she's just running. Most overkill as both the fenix and 255 are multisport watches. So you're paying for things like cycling, swimming metrics etc.. You get a couple features that really aren't all the valuable IMO. The one point.. if your wife's wrist is smaller place code attention to the size. The fenix 6x watch face is huge. 6 is standard size and 6s is a little smaller. Women tend to gravitate to the 6s. The value she'll get for these newer higher tier watches is training features. Which often isn't that complicated for onky running. Dcrainmaker . Com is a good site for garmin reviews.

Dang. Personally, I can't justify the upgrade from the Fenix 6 GameStop deal from maybe 5 months ago but as a long time Garmin user, I'm loving my 6. This is a helluva deal for those looking to upgrade

I personally wouldn't get a non Sapphire. I scratched my last watch screen while swimming. My 6x Sapphire has been to hell and back.. seriously. A full Ironman is a little taste of hell. Screen is still immaculate

Is she primarily a runner? If so, go with Forerunner series. If she is a hiker/runner/other activities, then Fenix series is better. Also, if runner, Music edition is worth it, as she doesn't have to carry her phone. As per rumors ( not confirmed), Forerunner 965/265 might have the ECG feature they released for Garmin Venu2 - this feature requires a special sensor and someone thinks they spotted it on an yet to be released photo of 965. The reason for waiting till March would be typically when a new series comes out, the older versions will start going on sale. Hope this helps.
