Not a bad price at all, but Fair warning, the write speeds on this thing are going to be no where near the read speeds. Write is like 150ish mb/s(on a good day) vs 400-500mb/s read. If you want better write speeds in addition to fast reads, look to the 'extreme' version for not much more.

i don't think, its worth buying . it runs on SATA speed . buying nvme drive and cheap enclosure produce better speeds then this
Agree 100% - the NVME version (extreme) is worth the price difference.

How does this deal (probably looking at the extreme) compare with the previous Crucial X8 2TB deal for $129?

Primarily looking to backup photos from MacBook and iPhones.

Crucial X8 is far better deal. Speed is doubled on paper and in testing consistently hits around high 860 to 950 in speed.

Dang was just looking at the 2tb extreme version for $150. Wondering if this is worth the savings? Will be used for unloading photos from my GoPro and storing all my videos and photos from GoPro and phone. Any thoughts?

Just bought the extreme version today. It's worth the extra $30. Beside I would not buy a drive off Amazon. Too many fakes being reported.

Ahh yes good point. Forgot about the fake issue. I'm willing to maybe risk it for a $30 micro sd card but $100+, a little too risky.
