Using a card payment processor at 2.9% you'd be able to cycle $4,000 for $116 in fees - add the $69 card fee and you're at $185 for Companion Pass and 34,000 points, which is a solid deal for 11 months of pass.

I got the Priority card a little over a year ago. I was able to add the card to ApplePay before getting the physical card.

Once the card appears in your accounts in the Chase app

go to the card,
click Show More under Account Services
Click Digital Wallets
I was able to add the card to ApplePay. GPay and Paypal are also offered but I did not try to add those.

Hope this helps someone. It's possible they changed this since I did do it over a year ago.

Have done the CP many times. This looks like an easy way to get it. Too bad I have no desire to fly anymore.

Looks like some new promotions posted. Can someone check my logic:

Plus Card (50,000 Points | $1,000 Spend | $69 Annual Fee)
Premier Card (50,000 Points | $1,000 Spend | $99 Annual Fee)
Priority Card (50,000 Points | $1,000 Spend | $149 Annual Fee)

So if you spend $3,000 total ($1,000 on each card) in 3 months and pay $317 you'll get:
1) $75 travel credit (taking your annual fee down to effectively $242)
2) 150,000 points
3) Companion Pass good through 2024

This seems like a much better deal than even before? Where you had to spend $4,000 for a companion pass only through 2023?

I believe you can only get the bonus once every 24 months from each category (one personal and one business), so you'd have to get one of each card and do the spend on both to get the companion pass the regular way. I.E. One of the cards you listed and one of the two business cards.

I called and moved my closing date to the beginning of the month, can't move up any earlier. They will tell you that you probably won't get the points when the statement closes, but I have gotten it as soon as statement closed every time I have done one of these.

I just called them to ask if I can get the promo expedited. They said that they cannot and that it would be about 6-8 weeks until it posts to the account. I only talked to an account rep and didn't ask for a manager because their systems were updating anyways.

Does anyone else have any luck receiving theirs sooner than the 6-8 week window besides bepragmatic?

My Companion Pass was available right after the Statement Date passed (when I had met the minimum spending):
Log into your SWA account.
Click on "My Account" at top of page.
See Companion Pass info in middle right side of page:

"My Companion Pass
Congrats!
You've earned Companion Pass!
Earned through 2/29/24
Designate a lucky person to fly with you. Companion Pass rules"

I learned this the hard way as well. But I also learned that you can book the flight now and as long as ANY seat is available, you can add your companion later. So even if you don't have the companion pass yet, go ahead and book your flight. Then once the companion pass hits you can add them. I was waiting for companion pass to book my flight and the price of the flight went up. So screwed up twice.

I've also sorta screwed up on that as well by waiting too long to book my tickets. Also, because of their generous return policy, I've booked a single separate ticket that I can basically reserve the spot for my companion pass. Once I get the companion pass, I'll refund it and then grab the spot with my companion pass.
