My personal experience as of lately having dashpass. The "service fees" completely negate the benefit of the subscription. I get free delivery, but drivers publicly state they ignore non tippers, which means I have to tip to maybe get better service. Then on top of that, I see anywhere from 5 to 15% tacked on by door dash for a generic service fee.

Unless I was truly unable to go get my order myself, this service is becoming more and more like Airbnb by the minute ( a rip off )

I agree 100%. These services were nice to use occasionally during the height of the pandemic, but they're way too expensive for everyday use.

As for tipping, I get it that drivers want to get tips, and I make it a point to tip well, but, on the flipside, people are worn out by tipping culture run amok.

My personal experience as of lately having dashpass. The "service fees" completely negate the benefit of the subscription. I get free delivery, but drivers publicly state they ignore non tippers, which means I have to tip to maybe get better service. Then on top of that, I see anywhere from 5 to 15% tacked on by door dash for a generic service fee.

Unless I was truly unable to go get my order myself, this service is becoming more and more like Airbnb by the minute ( a rip off )

People seem shocked that delivery using 3rd party human couriers would have a premium cost. And you should tip - someone is spending time on your delivery. If there's an issue with timing or food, DoorDash will make it right.

I'm glad DoorDash makes it easy to see ripped orders for drivers. By default, there's very few situations where the driver is at fault and shouldn't get fair pay for the time.

But many of us know to just leverage the promos to make it cost no more than buying in store, with the added convenience of delivery.

The whole non-tipper perspective is fascinating to me. If people are willing to tip for said service then why would anyone who doesn't tip be a priority?

Please tip your drivers. Don't punish them for corporate greed. The base pay for each driver dash is only $2.60
