EDIT: Unfortunately the melanios are no longer listed in this deal, they must have sold out. There are still some quality sticks in this deal but not as good of a bargain as before.

ORIGINAL POST:

CigarPage is currently running a deal on select cigar five packs. The site lists the regular, albeit still discounted prices for each; however, if you add 4 or more to your cart they all drop to $17.49 each. There are some good and not so good deals but the big one imo is the five packs of Oliva Melanio robusto. If all you bought was 4 of the five packs, that's 20 Melanio for $69.96+tax.

You won't get the boxes as they will come in cello wrapped five packs but that's the equivalent of two boxes for less than many online shops sell a single box. Plus much less than they retail in any B&M.

Some variation of this deal happens every few months and I try to stock up each time.

Thank you. But I can't. I still have 400 left and need to bring it down to 50 before buying more. I hate these deals. 😂

As I tried to explain in the prior Melanio thread, this is the deal you should be waiting for. CigarPage runs it periodically and it is the best deal out there.

Also, if you like Melanio and want to try similar cigars to hit the minimum, I would recommend two others from this sale which showcase that Sumatra flavor: Rocky Patel Decade and the AJ Fernandez San Lotano The Bull.

Thanks, OP - this is a killer deal. I think the cheapest I ever get these for is when they have them for $19.99.

I'd also recommend the Rocky Patel Twentieth MADURO Toro and AJ Fernandez San Lotano Requiem Maduro Toro if you don't want 20 of the Melanios.

If the Montes are your jam, go for it. Probably the cheapest you'll find to try them.

As for MSRP, my opinion is to generally ignore MSRP for most cigars. That is what the manufacturer says they're worth. As with many products and cigars in particular, it's all about personal preference. A cigar is worth what you feel it's worth. I've had 2 dollar sticks I love and continue to purchase while at the same time I've had 15-20 dollar sticks that I might go for at 5 bucks but even then have things I like better at that 5 dollar price point.

As a side note, some brands set their prices sky high because of their brand...*cough* Liga *cough*. That's their right and some people will consider it worth the cost but others like myself see it as expensive for the sake of expensive. So you can't really go off MSRP as a measure of savings.

If you're like me and mostly only interested in the Serie V Melanio, you may also enjoy AJ's The Bull. Both are Ecuadorian Sumatran cigars and taste great! I find The Bull to be stronger though, so I don't buy them as often.

I think 10-pack/$40 was the best deal I've had for V-Melanio Robustos...

Solid deal for 20!

Hey guys, I'm a pretty casual cigar smoker, but i usually enjoy lighter cigars. I tend to gravitate towards Connecticut wrappers. Recommendations?

For travel consider making a tupperador- lots of tutorials around.
