All high speed PCIE 4.0 nvme drives run hotter than others. Heatsink is essential accessories for them nowadays.

Is covering one side enough for this double sided drive?

But is this drive furiously fast enough for a pc that lives a 1/4 flop at a time? Asking for a friend...

PCIe 4.0 drives run hot in general and therefore, cooling is recommended. Least of us will run sustained data transfers, so something simple such as this would suffice:

Laptop NVMe M.2 Heatsink with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YC1HTFR

Works well in my i7 1260p laptop.

4TB is also on sale... I bought mine for 900 each... now they're almost half off.. these are the best TLC nand I can find because the TBW ratings are so high. I bet they're clearing out stock to field the pci-e gen 5 version. This is also on sale on Amazon...

Why not available on Amazon? No idea of B&H's return policy.
