Nope. Anything that's same box or one item number is not hackable.

Still a good deal if it's what you need. If it's not, keep waiting... 18g was just on sale a week or so ago.

I own both a non-Hp jigsaw, multi tool, and circular saw. Any benefit of replacing any of them with a HP variant?

I have the 16g brad nailer and it's inconsistent. Sometimes it drives the nail and sometimes it will jump back and leave it halfway embedded. My brother's 16 g ryobi just straight up stopped turning on or working. I would only try this if you can return it easily.

Otherwise in my personal experience, ryobi does not make good nail guns. But you get what you pay for. Just my anecdotal experience.

I have the Brad nailer and it is one of the more convenient tools I own. Works great. Everytime I use I think to myself that I should have bought it sooner.

One thing to note is that this deal is for the HP 18GA nailer (not 16). It seems that the non-HP nailers are more prone to issues.

What does the HP line do differently?

They have more powerful, updated brushless motors. The older models would jam more often. The newer HP and non-HP have design improvements not to Jam as much.

I have an older model and it rarely jams if you keep the pin oiled. It just requires more maintenance.

Good stuff, I ordered the nailgun + oscillator. HD sells brushed version at almost the same cost as these newer and brushless models.

What do you use the brad nailer for as a DIYer. Seems like something use once like on baseboards and then it sits in the closet.

I just received my RECON brad nailer from DTO....

I fixed four pieces of loose trim throughout the house...

Now, I'm like Homer when got his gun - Im looking for an excuse to use it. I feel like I need to trim out my doorways and archways with fancy stuff. find me a reason!
