Why both FreeSync AND G-Sync? Aren't they pretty much the same? And given that this is not a monitor...

The price...! 😳

Any reason to not invest in a desktop at this range?

Portability is about it. Otherwise, the desktop will be far more powerful than this.

And upgradable, and fixable...I wish they made small desktop made for portability, coming in a fitted suitcase with a smallish display fitting inside or something of that spirit

Beware, it has some regressions compared to a 2022 model. That includes 1gbe ethernet (2.5gbe in 2022), it's thicker and heavier, fingerprint sensor gone, touchpad is plastic instead of glass, port indication backlight gone, RGB lighting was simplified.

What?? I have a couple gens old (gen 6?) Legion 7 Pro w/5900hx+3080 and it's awesome, and several of the things that they removed are part of why...

Same. I have a 2021 Legion 7 that my son uses for gaming. Those regressions make it a doubtful decision to upgrade this year.

There is literally no reason to spend $2500 on the specs in this laptop right now.

JarrodsTech [youtube.com] did a spec comparison and compared with last year's Legion 7i, Lenovo has removed tons of features and have the audacity to call this the "PRO" version... 🤦 ♂️

Compared to last year's 7i the 7i Pro is:
- Thicker
- Heavier
- Plastic trackpad vs Glass last year...
- Removed the fingerprint scanner
- Rear port icon lighting has been removed
- Pressure sensitive WASD keys are gone
- Ethernet port has been reduced from 2.5gbit to 1gbit
- Ethernet port is upside down
- Much less RGB lighting
