Somebody please explain to me how TT Deluxe is worth 2-3x more than HR Block Deluxe when they both do exactly the same thing.

The IRS lists some free options, if you make less than $73k. TT and H&RB aren't part of that program anymore. https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-f...s-for-free

Can someone tell me if this is about the best price one can expect for Premier? I have a lot of cryptocurrency transactions to report and I believe last time TurboTax made me use Premier to file my taxes.

Go for filing to turbotax.com and file tax, if you have stock market investment those pdf will be directly imported but if you buy digital/disc version, it wont work well and all your investment will not imported properly...
