buy a fan and a separate filter and tape it to the ends. you can also buy a air quality monitor meter to measure the air particulates before the air enter and after the air exits.
I like the Levoit Cores that I have. Those have app access and now I'm hooked on being able to control and schedule them remotely. Definitely looking for smaller purifiers, but now a days they have to have app control.

I also do kinda wonder how effective they are. Reviews swear by them, but also note that it doesn't prevent that thin layer of dust that builds up on everything. Kinda makes me wonder...
I think it works well. My allergies didn't bother me as much at night as they had prior seasons when I had no bedroom air purifier. I replace the filters every 6 months and you can clearly see how much dust it captures because it grows considerably gray in 6 months -- especially if left on all day. I'll be honest, we're really bad at vacuuming and dusting the bedrooms, so we're likely really hard on the air filters. We probably vacuum the bedrooms once a month. Also, we don't have forced hot air heat, so there is no filter like in our central AC system. Again, that may cause these filters to work harder than in homes with forced hot air.

I paid that last month for this. There may have been a post about it. I suspect it is the new price. I have 3 of them for bedrooms and they work well. They often run non-stop. In prior postings about this model, people noted that there is a newer levoit model that uses less energy. Perhaps this model is getting cleared out.

It was the same deal last time, $29.99. I snagged one too and love it! Really great for the size.

How much dust is it collecting in the filters? Also do you notice any difference in air quality?

Since you have it in the bedroom, how's the noise level? Thanks!

Ill never buy this brand or any off brand air purifier again. I bought Levoit's other model last year and have no way to buy filters.

Yea this might be an issue when buying unknown or lesser known brands. I'm just afraid once the original filter needs changed, I won't be able to find a replacement.

You would need to seal your house extremely well, upgrade your HVAC filters to a merv 13, and keep the fan running constantly to create airflow, to reduce the buildup of dust. Technically, you could get away with a merv 9 or 10, but it wouldn't catch the pollen sized particles.

Also, that white dust is mostly dead skin cells.

These little filter units are for small enclosed areas, not rooms with doors that stay open a majority of the time.

I'm not following this... you can buy all the air filtes online? Amazon has pretty much all of them, or Target, or Best Buy, or Staples. I have multiple Levoit purifiers, this one included, and I've easily found all the filters.

Levoit is a well known air purifier brand.

I will say … now that I know a bit about air purifiers, I'd never grab smaller ones like these. Get some nice, larger Blueair models like the 121 from Costco. In typical room sizes, you can get great functionality without maxing out the fan which makes them easier to live with. Additionally, the filters aren't all that much more expensive than on smaller devices and can be used longer.

If you grab multiples of the same model, you can load up on filters during a sale and they can be used in every single device which simplifies things.
