Are these things safe to cook on? I've read some research lately about chemicals from teflon pans that leach into the food... even when it's unscratched.

I have 3 qt version of this pan and it's pretty good, Based on my research I believe this nonstick does not contain Teflon

I have never come across any no stick pan that last so don't waste your money and just buy something with a recognized brand for $20-$30 and expect to replace every few years. You might be able to prolong the life of a non-stick pan if you cook with medium heat and not high heat but kind of difficult to do when cooking.

For the same price you can go with a decent stainless or get multiple cast iron pans. Sure both take some work, but that's what you gotta do if you want great pans.

If you don't care, just get non-stick, everything causes cancer nowadays anyways.

I prefer cast-iron, infuse some minerals in my food too.

I believe they are refering to the process of plasma welding.

I've yet to find an article that explains how it can apply a non-stick coating, but I think that is how they're coming up with the 30,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Agreed, that pan still looks dirty, they used something abrasive and scrubbed hard to get long stuck debris off of it and damaged it
