I've seen this price for awhile now IN STORE ONLY but it's always been sold out every best buy I've stopped at on a recent road trip.

Great lens at this price or any price really. The 1.4 wr is definitely better optically, but I don't think it 100% justifies its cost vs the f2. However if you already have one of the xf 16's and one of the 35's you might feel the overlap pretty hard.... food for though. A great deal at any rate tu.

Can you buy the display model? I Just went to my local best buy but they mentioned that they could not sell me the store model. Something about Fuji owning the display models?

Usually the inventory goes "-1" when they sell the display model (normally why you see DNI tags).

Yes, the 23mm F2 shown here was likely a display model. Best Buy does not display models though. So how did this happen?

This happens when the planogram changes and the lens is no longer on display. Some manufacturers will ask for the lens to be sent back. Some will just let the store sell it as an open box.

I'm honestly surprised that the 23mm is still around as a display at some stores. When I worked at Best Buy two years ago that lens was brought down from most CES stores and sold off as open box.
