Unless you regularly visit sketchy websites, Windows Defender works great. Its a Microsoft product, It's free, and built in to Windows.

I agree that there are paid products that may perform better than Windows Defender. For most people though, the modest level of improvement that is gained is not enough to justify the cost or the burden of managing the subscription for the paid products.

Just my two cents. I realize others may disagree.

I think mine expires in a few months.

Yes it will. Just have to confirm that it is for the same number of devices. I just extended my Family Pack 15 Devices to 2/2026, originally set to expire 2/2024.

I run Norton 360 or BitDefender on all my computers, along with Malwarebytes (paid). Malwarebytes (paid) is best when running on top of Norton or Bitdefender.

So it won't extend a 5 pack subscription? That's a shame I just bought but haven't redeemed a 5 pack.

I manage IT for a small business that insists on using bitdefender... it has cost them 2 visits so far in a year. Once because a bitdefender browser plugin decided to start blocking all google apps like drove and email. A second time because it decided to close off the port they use for their scanners.

Both are good. I personally went with bitdefender family because, at the time, it was slightly higher rated.

I would suggest doing a search and look at the newest professional reviews. They will point out the differences.
