This good to have in the car? Or overkill?

This vacuum sucks and not in the good way! Batteries die really quick. YouTube videos of replacing the battery show how difficult it is.

The batteries in these don't last long on a charge or long in terms of longevity. Much better off getting a vacuum from a tool brand such as Ryobi, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita with swappable batteries.

It's perfect. Anything less for a Car-vac would be underkill.

The ones that use the cigarette ports for power are absolute garbage and should be avoided at all costs.
I've used this Black&Decker for years and it has worked very effectively.

For good reason. I've had mine since about 2015 (had to dig it up in my Amazon orders)

And it's worked wonderfully over the years for light spot cleanups. It's still working fine, but I probably only use it once every couple of weeks.

I've had this vacuum since 2016 and it honestly has been the best hand vac I've ever had. I can't really speak to the battery, though, because I always put it back in the charger holster when I'm done. So I've actually never experienced the vac running out of batteries while in use.

My fav vac too for the car. If you want the battery to last don't leave it on the stand. Charge when needed only. Had mine many years dropped it on concrete, cracked the dust bin. Just replaced mine with another.

This vac uses lithium ion batteries, which is actually suggested not to run the battery out for every charge.

I've got a similar one but not this exact one. The design is poor for emptying. If there is any hair or the dust all's get too big stuff gets stuck and it's difficult to dig it out.

I'd stay away from these handheld cordless vacuums for cleaning as the power don't last more than 10 mins and rather look for 12V corded ones. The one I've got is the BLACK+DECKER Flex Car Vacuum, 12V Corded (BDH1200FVAV) from Amazon for $65. Very worth it investment.

Thanks for the post, I have this vacuum and it worked wonderfully the last 5-6 years on a daily basis. It's just starting to weaken now and perfect time to buy a replacement!
