This was hackable at home depot, but went out of stock today. The plunge saw itself was around $225.

The tracks have jumped up quite a bit... and I'd highly recommend not getting the knockoff tracks (WEN, Powertec, Etc) as you'll be dealing with inaccuracies and flimsy tracks. It's worth spending 20% on the Makita tracks. (Or 20% less when you can get a deal, like through Rockler recently.)

No way, how. I have been looking for a track saw and am probably gonna settle for the wen and powertec tracks. I would have jumped on this for 225 tho

When it comes back in stock at HD it will be that price again. Buy it and the batteries and then return the batteries. Also depending on where you live go to Parr lumber and get it for $230.

My experience has been they are all hit and miss. I have a set of powertec 55s and a set of makita 55s that are dead straight and also the longer 118 and shorter Makitas. I had to send the 118 Makita and one set of 55 Makitas and 1 set of powertecs back due to slight warping. Whatever you get make sure to check for deformity within return window. Love the saw btw

A Makita track I bought was warped. I ended up getting a Wen track and it was perfect. The only negative is that it didn't slide quite as easily.

I would say don't settle when getting a track saw. Either get a makita/Dewalt/milwaukee/festool or not at all. Don't get a Wen track saw.

The powertec track is just as good as Makita. It's actually better than festool especially for the Makita sae. The Wen is ok but flimsy.
