I have this installed and so far it's working great. The dual cameras are quite useful. This version stores videos locally and stores good amount of clips eventhough I am recording all motions.

I have the single-camera version. The issue with these is, memory is in the camera, which is very easy to remove. Any thief can easily yank it out and take with him, and there go all your videos as well..

Don't know whey they keep storage in the indoor chime unit..

Your statement is contradictory. Do you mean to say why don't they keep the saves on the home base?

Easily yank? You have to mount the backplate, then put the camera on. The remove you will need the pin. It's not easy to yank... I have the battery powered one and cannot easily pull it out without the pin

No, the camera assembly clicks on the mounting plate. Very easy to take it out. All you need to do is just cut the wires or pull forcefully.

I have this and know what I am talking..

No, the camera assembly clicks on the mounting plate. Very easy to take it out. All you need is something to push it out from the base plate. .

From what I remember researching doorbell cams, the wireless version stores on the homebase while the wired version stores on the SD card. The bigger issue is that the doorbell can be fairly easily removed and factory reset using only a paperclip. Unless something has changed in the last 2-3 months, a factory reset removes all stored videos, even if they are stored on the homebase.

Edit: This [youtu.be] review seems to echo my findings (pertinent details starting at 5:06)
