Not Costco specific but appliance quality is horrible right now. Do not buy an appliance until they get their stuff straight. I had to buy 2 refrigerators in the past 8 months (large family). First was replaced twice. Second had to have a door replacement on delivery and it currently does not make ice or dispense water. A $3k fridge too!

Between parts shortages, parts prices, and new inexperienced workers, its a mess right now. Avoid or try to spend less $$ knowing it won't last long.

Currently battling Costco to get my refrigerator fixed that broke after 100 days of ownership.

Their warranty and customer care are a shadow of what they used to be. Buyer beware.

All depends if you got the entry-level models or not. Nearly all issues are due to external water dispensers and ice makers. My bespoke flex has worked flawless for a while and is far and away the best fridge I've ever owned
Nah, I went though 2 higher end Samsung refrigerators in the last 5 years. They seem to frost up inside. I've had to call a technician out multiple times

Samsung was notorious for water dispenser failure.

My understanding is that Samsung finally acknowledged that their fridge design has a flaw and the newer Bespoke machines have totally separate ice maker and water dispenser lines.

Of course it doesn't guarantee the other parts will work well such as a compressor. I have an induction range that doesn't work on the left side due to design flaw. I figured it out how to fix it by other people with same issues on message boards.

I tried to buy appliances from costco- got lead around for 3 months as they attempted to ship the washer dryer combo and then they said they lost it and a month later they said they delivered it and i had a lengthy customer service -or lack there of- experience trying to get a refund. Ended up buying from lowes and got it the next say- like woooow, can't believe i wasted a few months trusting costco.

Anywho- fair warning to anyone else. I still have never received a call back after escalating it several times and no one knowing how to handle it. 2 years now... forgotten .

Costco has manufacturers drop ship. Which can be a nightmare since they dont even have access to tracking info in most cases. I read a few reviews about GE being awful at this.
What brand of Washer / Dryer did you order (from Costco)?

What leads you to believe appliance quality is going to better say a year from now? Not arguing, just curious what makes you think waiting will yield higher quality appliances in time.

Fridge shopping now, and it's hard to find anything that has highly positive reviews, there's always some major issue, and no particular brand is without their own faults & poor models.

My Samsung has the in unit water pitcher filling system, which I never thought I wanted until I landed on the customer special order, never delivered unit at Lowe's for more than half off (original sale was $3600 - we paid ~$1750). That autofill pitcher stopped working at 11 months. Samsung customer service tried to tell me the warranty expired six months prior. I scan all of my receipts and label them with the filename of the product so it was easy to prove otherwise and it was covered.

The service tech said that these units are really good, it's the ones with the ice AND water in the door that you want to avoid.

I concur with the many comments about buyer beware. I have had quite a nightmare with Costco over a GE refrigerator with a federal recall. I will think twice about buying another appliance from Costco. The level of Costco customer service, which has involved the executive team, has been the bulk of the nightmare.

Of course I just had a fridge delivered on Monday and this makes it $600 cheaper. Submitted a price adjustment request, but if they don't honor it I'll definitely return and rebuy.
Price adjustments can be claimed within 30 days of purchase. Rep explained to me with a TV I bought last year. Lucky for me it happened on day 28.

They do offer the Allstate 3 years extended warranty for $120. This includes your usual 2 yr manufacture warranty.

True, but you can kind of push them to do a one time price adjustment. I just did one the other day. I purchased my fridge in Dec and it is passed the 30 day mark. The customer service was able to do the adjustment for me which was great.

Costco appliance delivery and installation is horrible. The team that services the appliance delivery and installation is hard to reach, gives you the run around, and often doesn't have the information they need about scheduling.

I'd do the installation myself for appliances but the installation includes the haul away which is the part that is very valuable. But I'd not buy from Costco again after my previous experience with them.

Does anyone know if Chase Saphire Reserve has extended warranty?

They used to for all purchases but not sure if that's changed since 2019.
