Unless you know a specific way you will be subjecting the drive to heavy writes, you absolutely should not worry about this drive's endurance. 800TBW is A LOT of writes. In 8 years my old Intel SSD that was my boot and application drive until last month has only gotten to 36TBW. So it would last me ~160years if endurance were the limiting factor. Realistically capacity and/or a noticeable performance advancement will cause me to toss that as well as this P41 drive well before endurance becomes a factor.

Keep in mind endurance does not correlate to reliability. It is endurance and endurance only which is qualified by the TBW number. Below that number, this drive and a drive with 1600TBW are not going to offer different reliability statistics or promises.

Apparently that is what it's target market is, just w/ QLC the endurance is mediocre but at 2TB/ $100 why not. I have literally never killed a SSD from overwriting but QLC is definitely way more susceptible to failure than earlier process types. I still have Intel SLC running in my router, that thing is like 10 years old. Speed is good, will work for games. I may pick one up for the kid. Just make sure you keep it cool.

Yes. This is the successor to Intel p670. SK also has a Plat P41 which is a successor to the Gold P31, and is unrelated to the P41 Plus.

How much more should I expect to pay for an SLC or higher endurance ssd?

Slc is really expensive. Pretty sure you'd have to go to enterprise level for 2tb.

Mlc is the common one. Endurance isn't an issue if your not running a data center

Users in prior posts for this drive have been successful using this drive in the PS5, however it is technically not the speed that the PS5 requires.

Can we use this drive to build an external portable SSD drive with an enclosure? I'm new and trying to understand/compare this drive to a Sandisk Extreme Pro version. TIA
