Man, I remember paying $100 for this. It works fine once you flash the right firmware version for your car. Firmware updates aren't cumulative so they can be hit or miss.

For my 2017 Mazda 3, I had to try multiple firmware versions to find the most stable one.

Lots of info about this adapter on this [macrumors.com]thread.

At $30, I'm getting one as a backup. Thanks for posting OP.

I have a 4.0 for one car that works great. Anyone have any idea what the difference is between this 3.0 and the newer 4.0 version?

I ordered anyhow and will see.

The 4.0 comes with the Android adapter, so it works with iphone or droid. And I assume there's a software update.

4.0 is a "blue carbon fiber" and supports android. 3.0 has iOS support only I believe

Oh no. 3.0 doesn't work at all with Android? I ordered and thought later since the deal was going fast, but it's going back if I can't use Android.

I just got the push notification from this app about this deal (I was looking at a different deal for the 4.0 model at the time. I immediately tapped on the notification and found the deal was already expired.
