I've been doing maintenance and upgrades for my girlfriend's Acer Nitro (same specs but RTX 3050) for about a year and half now. I would recommend this one for 1080p gaming at a reasonable price like this.

RTX 3050 was kind of underwhelming on laptop, but the RTX 3060 seems just enough for modern games. Cooling was ok. Laptop was easy enough to take apart and upgrade. Hers had 2 NVMe slots, 1 SATA slot which was a pleasant surprise.

Laptop and PSU are a bit chunky (no surprise), but that seems reasonable to me. I'd rather have more upgrade slots and a decent cooling solution rather than one of the thin/light gaming laptops that are more likely to throttle.

Build quality and screen are roughly what you'd expect at this price point. Not too bad IMO.

Let's revisit this at <$650.

This is decent as a regular price but I wouldn't call it much of a sale.

I ended up going with the i7, 3050ti, with 512 ssd and extra 8gb ram for the same price on Amazon.

Nitro 5's are good bang for the buck in this space. I bought a Nitro 5 laptop refurbished from Acer Ebay for $450 in March 2019...and still a great little computer.

Anyone looking for a more serious gaming rig will obviously be willing to shell out double this. That's not this computer's fault.

gonna cost $100 to upgrade to 16GB ram and 1TB storage. I would look at faster refurb models when restock them they come with 2 year warranty.
