I have noticed people talking about the superiority of induction heating for these. Seems a good deal for a reasonably versatile product. I read every review on Costco's site and may grab one. With Costco's easy returns and free shipping both ways if needed, you can't lose.

Be aware that users say the actual quantity is maybe 4 cups of uncooked rice, despite claiming 6 cups of uncooked rice.

Features:
  • Induction Cooking Technology
  • 11 Preset Functions
  • Up To 12 Cups of Cooked Rice
  • Steam Tray Included
  • Nonstick Aluminum Inner Cooking Pot

I have not looked or called a warehouse to see if they carry this to compare prices.
Online price $79.99 less $20 Mfg savings - $59.99

$20 manufacturer's savings is valid 2/6/23 through 2/19/23. While supplies last. Limit 5 per member.

Thanks for your input.
  1. So, how long would you guess? That would be a nice data point.
  2. What about X-type(s) of rice? White, brown, Basmati?
  3. I wonder if you tried an exchange since it was an unreasonable time for steaming?

It should be faster and not slower unless you don't put enough water in there.

It took over 25 min to start steaming. My wife used it for rice, I haven't yet

Would have been better if it had stainless steel pot.

I'm pretty satisfied with the speed and consistency of cooking rice in an instant pot. One less appliance taking up space in the kitchen too.

I wonder which OEM makes these, they seem exclusive to Costco? Not sold by sur la table directly either.

While it's not as sleek looking as this Sur La Table, I think the Cuckoo Micom Rice Cooker is a vastly superior unit. Made in Korea. It's not on sale at the moment, but it gets down to $74.99 when it is.

That one also has the CA chemical (PTFE, CAS) Warning ⚠️ except for the Tiger brand.

So the pot is nonstick? Almost all my other pots and pans are too. I'm not too worried about it, but to each their own.

This is made in China. The best one you want for rice is made in Japan or Korea.
