G-Shocks are my favorite out of my 70+ watch collection of various brands. Don't like the one posted here? Then look at the other designs they have. There's tons. Warning though. It you've never owned one and you buy one, there's a chance you'll get hooked into the G-Shock world and buy others.

My last watch was a rolex presidential and now i wear a casio solar on the right and a luminox navy seal on the left. I'm much happier now. Maybe its less worry, paranoia, and trouble not to mention these keep way better time!

The mid-range G-Shocks are not expensive cheap watches. They are inexpensive bullet-proof, functional watches. I've had my PAG240-1 for 10 years now and it is still working like new on its original battery, despite having been abused hiking, camping, swimming, mountain biking, etc.

I know several LEOs and they wear Pro-treks on duty. They're that trusted

For me, I went through a Suunto phase (Core all black) and had to replace the batteries every other month. I haven't replaced my pathfinder batteries at all. The Suunto's in the back of some drawer while my pathfinders are in various grab-n-go bags.

i will not stand for this G-Shock slander. They are some damn tough watches that keep near-perfect time.
